Permeable Paving Sub-Bases (SUDS Aggregates)
With ever greater consideration being given to how 'run-off' water is managed, planners and builders often specify the use of a permeable sub-base (SUDS) aggregate to be used. This product allows surface water to escape through the sub-base into the ground below. Avoiding any excess surface water from running into the sewers and watercourses - which may already be unable to cope with the amount of water. It not only acting as a filtration system but allows the water to drain away in a more controlled manner, helping to avoid the flash flooding incidents we have seen an increase over the last few years!
