Terms and Conditions of Sale
All orders are subject to our general terms and conditions of sale.
We reserve the right to modify or withdraw, temporarily or permanently, this website (or any part thereof) with or without notice to you and we shall not be liable to you or any third party for any such modification or withdrawal. The website is provided by us to you on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
All products are subject to availability and may be extended or cancelled without notice due to production issues
Due to the variations of colour on computer screens and printers the product photographs shown on this website are for guide purposes only.
As a natural product, colour variations will incur and no guarantee can be given of the appearance of the product.
All sizes and measurements are approximate but we do try to make sure that they are as accurate as possible.
Alteration sand amendments may appear on our website without notice.
You are required to notify The Sand & Gravel Co. if you suspect someone else has breached our security.
All goods remain the property of The Sand & Gravel Co. until paid for in full.
Our area calculation guide for aggregates (how much is required) is used for approximate estimation only.
Sample service - see before you buy!
All our products are available on our sample service.
A fee of £7.50 will be charged for all small product samples, which include VAT and delivery.
This cost of this sample will be refunded to you by way of a deduction on the first order received.
You will be issued, with your sample, a unique code number, please keep it safe. This number must be used to reclaim the sample cost when placing your first order. This unique number must be entered on the order form prior to submitting. Note: Only one code number can be used per order and that number can only be used once.
Larger product samples (eg Gabion stone or Cotswold stone) will be charged at £50.00 per sample, which includes VAT and delivery.
You will be issued, with your sample, a unique code number, please keep it safe. This number must be used to reclaim the sample cost when placing a minimum £300 order. This unique number must be entered on the order form prior to submitting. Note: Only one code number can be used per order and that number can only be used once.
If more than one product sample is requested, then each sample will be issued with its own unique number. However, multiple unique code numbers can not be used on a single order. Remember that only one code number can be used per order and that the unique code number can only be used once! Failure to follow these T&C's may affect the refund of your sample cost and the loss of the use of any sample unique code number.
Pricing and Methods of Payment
We take payment from your card at the time we receive your order, once we have checked your card details and stock availability.
Goods are subject to availability. In the event that we are unable to supply the goods, we will inform you of this as soon as possible. A full refund will be given where you have already paid for the goods.
The price you pay is the price displayed on this website at the time we receive your order. No other prices published by The Sand & Gravel Co. are applicable to these items. The following exception applies:
While we try and ensure that all prices on our website are accurate, errors may occur.If we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered, we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you we will treat the order as cancelled. If you cancel and you have already paid for the goods, you will receive a full refund.

Title to any products you order on this website shall pass to you on delivery of the products provided that we have processed and received payment in full for the products.
All prices include VAT at the applicable current rates but exclude delivery charges.
Quantity Discounts
Further discounts may be offered for large orders and trade enquiries, please contactThe Sand & Gravel Co. to receive a quote.
Delivery Terms and Conditions
In the main we deliver our products in small bags and/or bulk bags on pallets. Please notify us of any delivery constraints in advance.
If the conventional pallet delivery is not suitable or possible, then an alternative HIAB delivery is available, upon request and subject to additional delivery charge. This will enable the aggregates to be off-loaded using a crane (attached to the lorry).
It is the customer's responsibility to ensure The Sand & Gravel Co. are aware of any delivery constraints in advance and if alternative delivery methods are required.
The Sand & Gravel Company does not accept liability for non-delivery, where caused by circumstances beyond its control.
We always require somebody to be on site to accept and sign for the delivery.
If delivery is rejected/refused by customer, the customer will be responsible for delivery cost and any cost incurred by The Sand & Gravel Company to have the goods returned, unless the goods are deemed by The Sand & Gravel Company to be faulty.
Please note the pallet(s) and bag(s) are non-returnable but are fully recyclable.
Deliveries Charges
Our delivery charge is roughly calculated on geographical areas, based on groups of postcodes. By entering your postcode in the ‘On your lorry > delivery’ you will be offered two options of delivery – economy or premium rates. The delivery timing and cost will be shown with the cost being added to the order form once chosen.
Deliveries by couriers normally occur between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
Please Note:
Working days are classified as Monday to Friday and exclude bank holidays.
Delivery times apply to items in stock.
If any items are out of stock, we will contact you and either organise a refund orgive you an estimated time of availability.
For those customers who live in some remote rural areas our delivery service may be extended by two working days or we may contact you to advise that your address is not serviceable.
Delivery to an address other than your billing address is permitted.
Preparation for Receipt of Delivery
When contacted by The Sand & Gravel Co. or our courier to arrange delivery please:
Confirm address details and leave a daytime telephone number so that we can contact you if necessary on the day of delivery.
Ensure the delivery area is accessible to a vehicle, flat and solid enough to take the weight of the delivery.
Access may be required for a vehicle up to 20 tonnes. Please notify us of any delivery constraints in advance. For example, weight limit, restricted street access, or soft ground. If the vehicle is unable to deliver due to access, rather than damage property or cause any Health and Safety risk, if the delivery is not possible, your order may be returned to us or the couriers depot where storage charges and re-delivery charges maybe added. We always need somebody from the customer to be on site to accept deliveries from us.
Your Rights to Cancel when buying on-line (Refund policy)
Under The Consumer Contracts Regulations of 2013 you have a right to cancel.
Your right to cancel will expire after fourteen working days, starting the day after the day that you received the goods. If you wish to exercise these cancellation rights, then please contact us at the following email address: sales@thesandandgravelco.co.uk quoting your order reference number.
If you have received the goods prior to you cancelling your contract you must arrange for The Sand & Gravel Company to collect your order. Once you have notified us you are cancelling your contract, we will re-credit your credit or debit card account as soon as possible and within a period of 30 days starting with the day cancellation was given. The goods in question must be returned in the same condition as originally delivered. The goods will need to be repackaged and made secure by you ready for collection; If you cancel your order then you will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us. We will be entitled to charge for the costs of recovering the items from you. Including any damage judged by the courier or ourselves to have been caused by unsuitable packaging for the return of the items or the materials have been marked, soiled or damaged.
Our Right to Cancel
We have insufficient stock available to deliver within 28 days.
We believe a fraud has taken place.
Any of the goods you ordered were incorrectly listed or priced on our website.
We will contact you as soon as possible and will re-credit your credit or debit card within 28 days of your order.
Shortages and Damages
We will have no liability if you fail to notify us of any items that are damaged or ofincorrect quantity by email, telephone or in writing within 5 working days of delivery. On notification within this timescale we will endeavour to resolve your issues.
Over Ordering
We cannot be held responsible for any under or over ordering, any reference to sizes and dimensions within the product description are purely for guide purposes only.
Colours
Due to the fact that our products are natural in origin, variation in colour and shades of all products is unpreventable and must be accepted.
This policy does not affect your statutory rights.
